Globalart’s Regional Competition -Kolor Champ ’24, Chennai

Amazing Creative Expressions by Children
Chennai, 25th August 2024: Globalart Regional Competition – Kolor Champ ’24, Chennai witnessed participation from over 700 children across the city and from neighbouring cities of Puduchery, Chengalpet & Vellore. Children between the ages of 5-15 years showcased their creativity through their vibrant artwork. The Topic for the competition – ‘TOPIC’ was announced on the sport and all the participating children came up with their unique ideas on the same.
Mrs. Sheela Rajendra, Dean – PSBB Group of Schools along with Mr. Dinesh Victor, Founder & MD, SIP Academy India (which runs the Globalart programme in India) inaugurated the event.
and Mrs.S.Rukmani, Principal-PSBB Millennium School Semmanchery joined in the afternoon session for the prize distribution.
Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Sheela Rajendra, Dean- PSBB Group of Schools said “Its really important to instil creativity in children from young age in order to stand out amongst their peers in today’s competitive world, she also spoke about the current education system giving equal importance to creativity like other subjects and how it builds a foundation for diverse career options.”
Mr. Dinesh Victor, Managing Director, SIP Academy India [of which Globalart India is a unit] stated that greater participation is being witnessed year after year. “creativity is a critical tool for success in today’s world. And the Globalart programme which nurtures children’s creativity using drawing and colouring (which most children love) has been very well received by both the children as well as their parents. With creativity honed in the early stages of life, these children who are the citizens of tomorrow will be better equipped to find innovative solutions to various complex issues in a rapidly evolving world.” said Mr. Victor. He also added that “Many of our earlier students especially those who are today successfully pursuing new age careers in interior design, architecture, graphic design and fashion design attribute their success to Globalart.”
During the evening session when the prizes were announced
Mrs. S.Rukmani , Principal PSBB Millenium School Chemmanchery said, “It is very encouraging to see these young children enthusiastically participating in this competition to showcase their creativity and artistic skills. she mentioned that creative thinking is a key skill to excel in any field.”
ABOUT GLOBALART
Launched in India by SIP Academy India in 2005, the Globalart programme is a one-of-its-kind international creative art programme for children in the age group of 5 – 15 years. The Globalart programme has been endorsed by LeFranc & Bourgeois, France & Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia. Today, Globalart is being run in 22 countries across the world with over 650 centres and has successfully trained over 2,75,000 children. In India Globalart has a presence in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, National Capital Region, Puducherry Rajasthan, & Telangana. It has thus far, added colour & enhanced creativity in the lives of over 90,000 children across 140 learning centres. The well-researched and structured syllabus aims to provide children with a systematic training methodology while also very importantly nurturing their creative thinking. Many alumni of Globalart are now successfully pursuing new age courses in some prestigious institutions in India and overseas. In fact, some of the earliest batches of students have already made a mark for themselves in various creative fields like design, architecture, fashion etc.
National & International Recognition
• The W.W.F. uploaded the creatives of Globalart children on their website for the ‘Save the Tiger’ Campaign and for ‘Climate Change’ campaign.
• Globalart Children’s creatives were displayed at the 2nd World Ministerial Conference with delegates from 13 Tiger range countries at Bali Indonesia in 2010. W.W.F Indonesia warded certificates of appreciation to Globalart as well the students whose creatives were displayed.
• Special postcards featuring Globalart students’ works with appreciation messages to Tiger Rangers had been released by W.W.F. in 2012.
• Limca Book of Records certification for conducting the 1st International ‘Kolor Champ’ in India. Certification for Art competition with participants from most countries on Nov 27th, 2010 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hyderabad, wherein 584 children participated. The children were from 7 countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, USA and India).
