Exploring the Future of AI, Ethics and Business Leadership
Chennai, 05 November 2026: The University of Western Australia (UWA) India is strengthening its MBA offering for professionals seeking to advance their careers through an accelerated, internationally recognised management programme that combines academic rigour with practical business exposure. As part of its engagement with prospective MBA candidates, UWA India will host an MBA Admission Day in Chennai on 13 November 2026, featuring an interactive session: “AI Can Make the Decision. But Should It? Ethics, Leadership and the Future of Business.”
The one-year, full-time MBA brings together contemporary management education, industry engagement and opportunities to explore the application of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, in real-world business environments.Designed for professionals looking to build strategic capabilities and take on greater leadership responsibilities, the programme covers key areas such as data-driven decision-making, entrepreneurship and innovation, strategic management, international business and organisational transformation. Its accelerated format offers students the opportunity to pursue a globally recognised Australian MBA in a shorter time-frame.
Nashid Chowdhury, Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of Western Australia India – Mumbai, said: “The future belongs to leaders who can bridge technology, innovation and business strategy. UWA’s MBA has been designed with that future in mind, combining world-class teaching, industry engagement and practical AI capability development in an accelerated format that meets the needs of working professionals. As the only Australian university with a campus in Maharashtra, we are extending UWA’s global reach while giving students direct access to one of the world’s most vibrant business ecosystems. Our presence in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu represents a significant commitment to the future of the India-Western Australia relationship. It builds on decades of engagement and reflects our belief that education is a powerful catalyst for deeper economic, research and people-to-people connections. For our students, it opens doors to new networks, new markets and new opportunities, preparing them to lead across borders and succeed in an increasingly interconnected world.”
A key feature of the programme is its emphasis on connecting classroom learning with industry practice. Through industry engagement, internship opportunities and collaborations with business partners, students can gain exposure to real-world organisational challenges and understand how emerging technologies are transforming business operations. UWA India is also working with industry partners to explore the practical application of artificial intelligence, enabling students to engage with the opportunities, ethical considerations and business implications of AI adoption.
The Chennaisession will examine how organisations are increasingly deploying AI across recruitment, marketing, lending, customer engagement and business strategy, while raising important questions around bias, privacy, transparency and accountability. Participants will take part in an interactive MBA-style business case study based on an AI-powered loan approval system that promises greater efficiency but may disadvantage certain customer groups. Assuming different leadership roles, including CEO, CFO, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Risk Officer, participants will debate whether the technology should be implemented, modified or abandoned. The programme will also feature industry perspectives from senior representatives of leading organisations, including Tata in Mumbai and Zoho in Chennai, subject to confirmation. Dr Raj Eri will present the UWA India MBA programme, offering prospective students insights into its curriculum, learning approach and professional opportunities.
Students who register for the MBA programmealso benefit from UWA’s international academic reputation and global alumni network of more than 150,000 graduates. As a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight (Go8), UWA is a top 100 ranked University, offering students the opportunity to earn a qualification backed by a globally recognised, research-intensive institution. Scholarship and fee-waiver opportunities are also available.
