Tamil Nadu Equestrian Student Champions Honored for Exceptional Achievements

Chennai, 22nd January, 2025: Chennai: In a grand celebration of grit, skill, and perseverance, Chennai Equitation
Centre (CEC) today honored the outstanding achievements of Tamil Nadu’s National Medal Winners in Equestrian
Sports.

The event celebrated young student champions who brought home an impressive tally of 18 medals,
including Team Gold in all age categories in Dressage, from the Junior National Equestrian Championship held in
New Delhi. Besides the other champions, Ms Miraya Dhadabhoy stood out as the Best Youth Rider in Asia (FEI
World Dressage Challenge). The occasion was graced by popular Actor Arun Vijay as the Chief Guest along with
Mr Dhruv Futnani, Head of Chennai Equitation Centre.


The event witnessed young equestrian athletes, aged between 10 and 18 years, who had captivated the audience
with their remarkable performances in the prestigious Olympic discipline of Dressage in New Delhi. As one of the
most elegant and technically demanding equestrian sports, Dressage tests not only the rider’s skill and precision
but also the seamless harmony between horse and rider. These young athletes demonstrated a level of discipline
and focus far beyond their years, mastering intricate movements with grace and poise. The sport, often referred
to as ‘horse ballet,’ requires years of dedication, and rigorous training, making their achievements all the more
commendable.


The champions who brought glory to Tamil Nadu include Shubh Chowdhari, one of the most successful riders,
who secured three Gold Medals. Pranav Deepak won a Team Gold and an Individual Silver Medal, marking a
remarkable achievement with his horse Fame of Viberty, despite having entered the competitive arena only
recently. The Gold-winning Children 1 team featured stellar performances from Ananya Sajith and Inaraa Luthria,
who led the scoreboard. Among the youngest participants Kevin Gabriel, riding Soulmate (Sechs Richtige)
showcased exceptional performance in the Children 2 age group (10–12 years) bringing home an Individual Silver
alongside playing a pivotal role in securing the Team Gold, with teammates Punav Suresh, Hasini and Eshaan
Sundaram.


Miraya Dhadabhoy and Sanskar Rathore won Team Gold in the Junior category, with Sanskar securing an
Individual Silver. In the Young Riders category, Jaiveer Varma added to Tamil Nadu’s tally with a Team Gold and
Individual Silver, riding Soulmate. Meanwhile, Samanna Everaa, a prominent rider from CEC, secured the Team
Bronze Medal.
Commenting on the occasion, Dhruv Futnani, Head of Chennai Equitation Centre said,”This is a moment of
immense pride for Tamil Nadu and Indian equestrian sports. These young athletes have showcased exceptional
talent, dedication, and perseverance, setting a remarkable benchmark for future generations. Their outstanding
performances not only highlight their commitment but also reflect the potential of Indian equestrianism on the

global stage. As we celebrate their achievements, we also aim to inspire aspiring Asian Games riders and create
greater awareness about this prestigious sport. By fostering interest and participation among the youth, we hope
to nurture a new generation of riders who can elevate India’s presence in international equestrian competitions
and uphold the legacy of this timeless sport.”
Actor Arun Vijay lauded the efforts of the young athletes and their contribution to putting Tamil Nadu on the
national equestrian map. He said, “Witnessing the dedication and discipline of these young riders is truly inspiring.


They exemplify the spirit of excellence, demonstrating not only remarkable skill but also an unwavering
commitment to their craft. Their achievements serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of hard work,
resilience, and passion in the pursuit of greatness. As role models for aspiring athletes across the country, they are
paving the way for a future where more young people are encouraged to explore and excel in equestrian sports,
showcasing that talent knows no bounds when paired with determination and focus.”
The event was followed by an exhilarating live demonstration by the champions and their majestic horses, leaving
the audience in awe of their talent and the harmonious connection they share with their equine partners.
