Last night, around 8 p.m., more than 400 employees of MD India TPA gathered—not for a celebration, but out of fear for their future. For over a decade, they have quietly worked behind the scenes in the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme, ensuring patients in 14 districts received timely claim approvals—even during floods, COVID, and other crises.

On August 5th, everything changed. The government insurance agency abruptly reduced MD India’s allocation from 14 districts to just 4, leaving 400 employees and their dependents facing an uncertain future. No clear reason was given. The remaining districts have been reassigned to other TPAs.

This gathering was their way of speaking up together—doctors, coordinators, and staff—appealing to the government to intervene and protect their jobs. It’s not just about employment; it’s about the families, the service record, and the human cost of a decision made without warning.
