Apollo Dialysis Clinics & IMA Cuddalore Conduct CME on Kidney Health(CKD) Awareness and Caregiver Guidance
Cuddalore | 23rd November 2025
Apollo Dialysis Clinics, in association with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Cuddalore, conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme focused on Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) awareness, early detection, skin care, proteinuria, and caregiver guidance. The session was held at IMA Hall, Beach Road, Cuddalore, and saw active participation from over 50+ doctors from the Cuddalore and Puducherry regions.
CME Topic
“Skin Care, Herbals and Proteinuria – What Every Caregiver Should Know.”
Speaker
Dr. A. Venkatesh
MD (Paediatrics), DM (Nephrology), Post Doctoral Fellowship (Pediatric Nephrology)
Dr. Venkatesh emphasized the importance of early diagnosis of renal disease, stating that proteinuria (presence of protein in urine) is one of the earliest indicators of kidney damage. He noted that timely intervention can significantly prevent the progression of CKD. He also highlighted the challenges patients face with skin complications and cautioned against the unsupervised use of herbal remedies, stressing that all treatments should be managed under medical supervision. He further underlined the need for early referral to nephrologists to reduce the risk of dialysis dependency.
IMA Leadership in Attendance
The CME was supported by IMA Cuddalore leaders:
● Dr. S. Mugunthan – President
● Dr. R. Vinothkumar – Secretary
● Dr. K. Gopalakrishnan – Treasurer
Their involvement played a key role in facilitating knowledge exchange and local physician engagement.
